I am a proud Mum to two little boys. What a life enhancing experience! Both were home births in the water. Even though I was already a naturopath & yoga instructor I found good information hard to come by. So I read greatly on the topic. However when it came to the actual act of giving birth I felt quite let down from the sisterhood & was under prepared – even more so with post-birth aftercare. I decided that I wanted to do something about this and help pave the way for other Mums-to-be. In 2011 I was one of 10 scholarships given out to study for two years distance learning for a Diploma in Childbirth Education from Aoraki Polytechnic.
I am proud to offer Mums and families the following ‘Motherhood’ services…
Pregnancy & Post Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy can be tough on the body, massage therapy can help you relieve tension through the hips, back, neck and feel great!
If you know someone who is pregnant, you may even like to treat them to a massage by purchasing a voucher.
Pregnancy Yoga
Are you pregnant or have you recently become a new Mum?
Pregnancy and birth can be tough on the body, a pregnancy yoga class can help you prepare for birth, relieve tensions from the body, calm the mind, create friendships with like-minded Mums and aid recovery.
If you know someone who is pregnant, you may even like to treat them to a pregnancy massage with us by purchasing a voucher.
Pregnancy Yoga can help in the following ways:
– Calms & focuses the mind
-An opportunity to breathe and connect with your pregnancy and your baby away from the daily grind, especially if you already are busy with little people
– Learn how to relieve muscle tension and be more at peace as your body changes
– Opens up & strengthens the pelvis and hip area for a more enjoyable pregnancy, birth & recovery
– Relieve back pain and other pregnancy discomforts
– Increase circulation & reduce swelling
– Aids deep diaphragmatic breathing technique (prepare for contractions, for c-section births & calming the mind in stressful situations, helpful once Baby is born! 😉
– Meet like-minded other Mums and enjoy a supportive safe setting
